The premise

A new drug promises out-of-body experiences, but users are coming back changed forever, and an otherworldly invasion of Earth is underway.

Horror Vault's take

When a mysterious street drug nicknamed 'Soy Sauce' starts giving users the ability to perceive things beyond normal reality, two slacker friends find themselves at the center of something far bigger and far stranger than a bad trip. What begins as a wild night of weirdness escalates into a full-blown crisis threatening the fabric of existence itself. Adapted from David Wong's cult novel, the film pitches gleeful gross-out horror against deadpan comedy and genuinely unsettling cosmic dread. Director Don Coscarelli keeps the chaos firmly tongue-in-cheek while still delivering creatures and concepts that linger long after the credits roll.
