Set in a sprawling Maine hospital with a dark and bloody history, Kingdom Hospital channels Stephen King's signature blend of the uncanny and the everyday. Built over the ruins of a Civil War-era mill where children perished in flames, the institution seems to carry that tragedy in its very walls. Strange visions, unsettling presences, and unexplained events begin to fracture the boundary between the living and the dead. King's adaptation of Lars von Trier's acclaimed Danish miniseries brings its own distinctly American gothic sensibility to the material.
