The premise
The living dead have taken over the world, and the remaining humans live in a walled city to protect themselves as they cope with the situation.

George Romero returns to the zombie apocalypse he pioneered, this time exploring a crumbling human society barricaded behind city walls while the dead grow ever more dangerous outside. The haves and have-nots clash within the last refuge of civilization, and the fragile order holding everything together begins to fracture. With a sharp satirical edge beneath the carnage, Romero uses his undead horde to hold a mirror up to the living — and what reflects back isn't pretty.
