The premise
In a place where young witches, vampires, and werewolves are nurtured to be their best selves in spite of their worst impulses, Klaus Mikaelson’s daughter, 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson, Alaric Saltzman’s twins, Lizzie and Josie Saltzman, among others, come of age into heroes and villains at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted.

The Salvatore School isn't your average boarding school — its students happen to be witches, vampires, werewolves, and more, all learning to master their powers before those powers master them. At the center of it all is Hope Mikaelson, a young woman carrying one of the most storied bloodlines in the supernatural world, navigating the usual teenage milestones alongside distinctly un-teenage threats. Alongside the Saltzman twins and a colorful ensemble of supernatural peers, the series blends coming-of-age drama with monster-of-the-week adventure. It's a lighter, more hopeful corner of the Vampire Diaries universe — but darkness is never far from the school gates.
