The premise
In 1989, a misunderstood teenager has a high school crush — who just happens to be a handsome corpse! After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness…and a few missing body parts along the way.

Set against the neon-drenched backdrop of 1989, Lisa Frankenstein puts a gleefully twisted spin on the teen romance genre when a lonely, misunderstood high schooler finds herself romantically entangled with a reanimated corpse. What follows is a darkly comic romp through murder, mayhem, and the messy pursuit of belonging. Equal parts swoony and macabre, the film leans hard into its campy sensibilities while keeping its heart surprisingly intact. Think classic monster romance meets '80s teen movie — with a body count.
