Ian heads deep into the New Zealand bush seeking total solitude, but an unlikely group of fellow trampers latches onto his solo trek. As the days wear on, a creeping sense that something — or someone — is shadowing the group begins to consume him. The remote landscape becomes as much a source of dread as whatever may be lurking beyond the treeline. Whether the threat is real or a product of Ian's fractured mind is the film's quietly devastating question.
