The premise
When a comet passes close to the earth, machines all over the world come alive and go on homicidal rampages. A group of people at a desolate truck stop are held hostage by a gang of murderous 18-wheelers. The frightened people set out to defeat the killer machines…Or be killed by them.

When a passing comet triggers machines worldwide to turn violently against their human operators, a ragtag group of strangers finds themselves trapped at an isolated truck stop — with a fleet of massive, sentient 18-wheelers circling outside. Based on a Stephen King short story and directed by King himself, the film leans hard into pulpy, high-octane spectacle. The outnumbered survivors must scavenge, scheme, and fight back against steel behemoths that show no mercy and need no driver.
