The premise

When a mother uproots her kids to resurrect a decrepit, long-shuttered funeral home in a sleepy California town, she quickly discovers the locals want nothing to do with the place — and for good reason. Something deeply wrong festers beneath the property, and what begins as an awkward fresh start spirals into a waking nightmare. Director Tobe Hooper brings his trademark grime and unease to a story where the horror feels rooted in the soil itself. The family's new home may be the worst decision any of them have ever made.
