When a young woman moves into a spacious Bergen apartment that seems too good to be true, her nights quickly become a waking hell of relentless nightmares. Something deeply wrong is embedded in the walls of that apartment, and it communicates through the fragile border between sleep and consciousness. Norwegian director Kjersti Helen Rasmussen crafts a slow-building sense of dread rooted in the visceral terror of sleep paralysis. What begins as troubled rest gradually pulls the protagonist — and the viewer — toward a darkness that the apartment has long been hiding.
