Set in 1862 on the wind-scoured Faroe Islands, this gothic folk horror follows Baldur, a fisherman whose quiet life is shattered by the arrival of Helge, a rugged whaler who stirs feelings he cannot name or suppress. Their bond grows in secret against a backdrop of superstition, isolation, and the unforgiving North Atlantic. When catastrophe falls upon them, the passion they share seems to rupture something elemental — and the terrified village closes ranks.
