The premise
People mysteriously start receiving voicemail messages from their future selves, in the form of the sound of them reacting to their own violent deaths, along with the exact date and time of their future death, listed on the message log. The plot thickens as the surviving characters pursue the answers to this mystery which could save their lives.

When a string of young people begin receiving chilling voicemail messages — recordings of their own dying moments, complete with a precise date and time stamped in the near future — panic spreads as the predicted deaths begin coming true. Takashi Miike's J-horror entry taps into the era's deep unease with mobile phones, transforming an everyday device into a harbinger of doom. Two survivors race against the clock to unravel the supernatural chain before their own phones ring with the worst possible news. Blending ghost-story dread with a murder-mystery hunt, it delivers the slow-burn tension and spectral imagery that defined early 2000s Japanese horror.
