The premise
Ireland will never be the same after Rawhead Rex, a particularly nasty demon, is released from his underground prison by an unwitting farmer. The film follows Rex's cross country rampage, while a man struggles to stop it.

Deep beneath the Irish countryside, something ancient and unspeakably savage has been waiting. When a farmer unwittingly disturbs the wrong patch of land, a towering, ravenous demon known as Rawhead Rex is set loose on the rural population. Based on Clive Barker's short story, the film tracks a desperate race to understand and confront a creature that operates on pure, primordial malice. Small-town Ireland becomes a hunting ground as Rex tears through anyone who crosses his path.
