The premise
Dr. Blake runs a TV show called "Independent Thinkers", which is sort of a Scientology-like self-help/religion program. But he's not making his audience think any more independently – with the help of an alien organism he calls The Brain, he's using brainwashing and mind control. The only thing that stands between them and world domination is a brilliant but troubled high school student with a penchant for pranks...

In a small town, a charismatic psychiatrist fronts a wildly popular self-help TV program — but his real agenda is far more sinister than therapy. An extraterrestrial organism is pulling the strings behind the scenes, bending the minds of unsuspecting viewers toward something horrifying. The only person who seems immune is a quick-witted, trouble-prone high schooler who can't convince anyone of the danger closing in around them. This late-80s Canadian creature feature blends B-movie monster mayhem with a sharp satirical edge aimed squarely at cult culture and televised manipulation.
