The premise
When three college students move into an old house off campus, they unwittingly unleash a supernatural entity known as The Bye Bye Man, who comes to prey upon them once they discover his name. The friends must try to save each other, all the while keeping The Bye Bye Man's existence a secret to save others from the same deadly fate.

Three college friends settling into an off-campus house make the mistake of learning the name of an ancient, malevolent entity — and once spoken, that name cannot be unspoken. The Bye Bye Man feeds on awareness of his own existence, turning paranoia and hallucination into weapons against his victims. As the friends' grip on reality begins to slip, they must race to contain a secret that spreads like a curse simply by being known.
