The premise
In the '80s, a teenage nerd notices sinister parallels between the story of his favorite comic book and the real life horrors befalling the small town where he lives. He and a few friends seek to investigate.

Set against the neon-tinged backdrop of 1980s Italy, The Crypt Monster follows a comic-book-obsessed teenager who begins to suspect that the lurid monster tales on his favorite pages are somehow bleeding into the real world around him. As mysterious events grip his quiet hometown, he rallies a ragtag group of friends to dig beneath the surface of the ordinary. Equal parts spooky and playful, the film wears its love of vintage horror comics on its sleeve. It's a creature-feature coming-of-age romp for fans who like their scares served with a grin.
