The premise
When a rogue priest discovers the exact date the Antichrist will be born, he enlists a Death Metal record store clerk and a cheesy TV psychic for an urban spree of gore, sacrilege and twisted humor to prevent the Apocalypse.

A guilt-ridden Catholic priest races against a biblical deadline, convinced he alone knows when the Antichrist will enter the world. To stop the coming apocalypse, he recruits the most unlikely allies imaginable — a heavy metal record shop obsessive and a fraudulent TV occultist — dragging them through Madrid's grimy underbelly in a blasphemous, blood-soaked crusade. Director Álex de la Iglesia blends scathing black comedy with genuine dread, turning Christmas into the most sinister holiday imaginable. Equal parts outrageous satire and visceral horror, it remains one of Spanish genre cinema's most distinctive achievements.
