The premise
In Louisiana, in the wicked Whateley House, Lavina delivers two babies whose fate is written. Ten years later, three scholars of the occult discover that one page of the “Necronomicon,” the unspeakable book, is missing and the Black Brotherhood has summoned the ancient gate keeper to free legions of evil gods and monsters from the dimension of chaos.
Horror Vault's take
Deep in the swamps of Louisiana, a cursed bloodline and a missing page from the Necronomicon set the stage for a collision between occult scholars and a fanatical secret brotherhood. As the Black Brotherhood edges closer to tearing open a gateway between dimensions, three researchers race to understand what unholy forces they are truly up against. This TV movie adaptation draws heavily from H.P. Lovecraft's mythology, pitting human frailty against incomprehensible cosmic entities. Genre veterans Jeffrey Combs and Dean Stockwell lend familiar faces to this tale of ancient gods straining at the edges of reality.
