When a man inherits the imposing New England mansion of his long-dead ancestor — a warlock executed by the villagers who feared him — he finds the estate harbors far more than cobwebs and old portraits. The surrounding town still carries the scars of that dark legacy, and the locals want nothing to do with the new arrival. As the couple attempts to settle in, something ancient and malevolent stirs within the palace's walls, threatening to blur the line between the living heir and the wicked man who came before. Roger Corman's atmospheric chiller weaves Lovecraftian unease into its Gothic bones, anchored by a commanding dual performance from Vincent Price.
