The premise

Martin Brundle, born of the human/fly, is adopted by his father's place of employment (Bartok Inc.) while the employees simply wait for his mutant chromosomes to come out of their dormant state.

Horror Vault's take

The son of Seth Brundle carries his father's cursed legacy from birth, growing up under the watchful — and not entirely benevolent — eye of the corporation that raised him. As Martin Brundle matures at an alarming rate, the dormant insect DNA within him begins to stir, threatening to consume the humanity he has always known. This sequel leans hard into visceral body horror and creature effects while adding a layer of institutional dread to the original's tragic premise.
