The premise

Workaholic Jim Evers and his wife/business partner Sara get a call one night from a mansion owner, Edward Gracey, who wants to sell his house. Once the Evers family arrive at the mansion, a torrential thunderstorm of mysterious origin strands them with the brooding, eccentric Gracey, his mysterious butler, and a variety of residents both seen and unseen.

Horror Vault's take

When real-estate agent Jim Evers drags his family to a remote estate on what was supposed to be a vacation, a sudden storm traps them inside a sprawling mansion teeming with supernatural inhabitants. The brooding lord of the manor and his enigmatic staff seem to have a very specific — and unsettling — interest in Jim's wife Sara. Part ghost story, part comedy, the film leans into its theme-park roots with lavish set design and a parade of spectral surprises that keep younger viewers entertained and genre fans nostalgic.
