The premise
A supernatural love story that centers on two parents whose life together falls apart after their son dies. The man, now a successful lawyer, and the woman, now married and an author, get a chance at reconciliation ten years later.
Horror Vault's take
A decade after the death of their young son tore their relationship apart, two estranged parents find their separate lives upended when something inexplicable pulls them back together. Lee Pace and Carrie Coon anchor this grief-soaked drama with raw performances as people still carrying wounds that never properly healed. The supernatural element feels less like a traditional haunting and more like an emotional reckoning — quiet, intimate, and deeply unsettling in ways that linger long after the credits roll. This is horror at its most human, where the real terror is what unresolved loss does to the living.
