The premise

The crew of the merchant ship Demeter attempts to survive the ocean voyage from Carpathia to London as they are stalked each night by a merciless presence onboard the ship.

Adapted from a chilling chapter of Bram Stoker's Dracula, this gothic sea-horror plunges viewers into the terrifying final journey of the merchant vessel Demeter as something monstrous picks off its crew one by one under cover of night. Trapped on open water with nowhere to run, the sailors must piece together what horror lurks in the cargo hold before it claims them all. Director André Øvredal crafts a relentlessly grim, claustrophobic siege film where the ocean itself becomes a prison and dread builds with every sunset.
