The premise

A novelist fleeing the anxieties of city life retreats to a remote Victorian mansion that seems pulled straight from the pages of her own fiction — perhaps a little too literally. The house carries a dark and bloody history, and its former occupants may not have fully departed. As strange visions and sinister occurrences mount, the line between imagination and terrifying reality begins to blur. The Nesting is a slow-burn slice of early-80s gothic horror with an old-school atmospheric sensibility.
