The premise
The Midwest USA is invaded by stingray-shaped alien slugs that ride on people's backs and control their minds in order to spread their dominion. Government agency reps Sam Givens, Andrew Nivens, and Mary Sefton must stop the aliens.

Something sinister has arrived in small-town Iowa — alien parasites that latch onto human hosts and bend them entirely to an extraterrestrial will. A covert government team races to contain the outbreak before it spreads beyond their reach, but in a world where anyone could already be compromised, knowing who to trust becomes its own desperate battle. Based on Robert A. Heinlein's classic science fiction novel, this 1994 adaptation leans into body-horror unease as much as creature-feature thrills. The stakes escalate fast, and the enemy is closer than anyone wants to admit.
