The premise
A fictionalized account of the last days of Edgar Allan Poe's life, in which the poet is in pursuit of a serial killer whose murders mirror those in the writer's stories.

When a string of gruesome murders surfaces in 19th-century Baltimore, each killing eerily staged after a tale by Edgar Allan Poe, the troubled writer himself is drawn into the hunt for the copycat fiend. Teaming with a determined detective, Poe races against time as the crimes grow ever closer to home. The film plays on the delicious irony of a man being haunted by the darkest corners of his own imagination, blending Gothic atmosphere with period thriller urgency.
