Presented as recovered footage, The Rejected chronicles one person's obsessive documentation of a UFO encounter that may — or may not — mark the beginning of something far more sinister. The film leans hard into the mockumentary conceit, deliberately blurring the line between genuine phenomenon and elaborate fabrication. Its lo-fi, self-shot aesthetic keeps the threat just out of reach, letting dread fill the gaps that answers refuse to occupy.
