The premise
After a vampire leaves his native Balkans, he murders a Czech artist, assumes his identity, and moves in with the dead man's American cousins.
Horror Vault's take
A centuries-old vampire abandons his Carpathian homeland, ruthlessly stealing the identity of an unsuspecting artist to infiltrate small-town American life. Posing as a newly arrived European relative, he insinuates himself into a warm, trusting family wholly unprepared for the darkness he carries with him. This lean 1950s chiller transplants classic Gothic menace into an everyday suburban setting, letting dread build quietly beneath a veneer of normalcy.
