The premise
Gospel singer Beth and her cowboy boyfriend Steve leave Texas to preach door-to-door in Scotland. When, after initial abuse, they are welcomed with joy and elation to Tressock, the border fiefdom of Sir Lachlan Morrison, they're about to learn the real meaning of sacrifice.

Two earnest young Texans — a gospel singer and her cowboy boyfriend — arrive in rural Scotland with Bibles in hand and hope in their hearts, only to find their missionary zeal met with a disturbingly warm welcome. The tight-knit community of Tressock, presided over by the imposing Sir Lachlan Morrison, harbors devotions of its own that run far older and darker than anything the pair bargained for. Director Robin Hardy revisits the spiritual territory of his 1973 cult landmark, crafting a companion piece soaked in Celtic ritual and creeping menace. Beneath the cheerful hospitality lies a community with very specific plans for its new guests.
