What lurks beneath the mattress isn't just a figment of imagination for two brothers living in an ordinary suburban home — it's very, very real. When the older brother returns after a mysterious absence, he and his younger sibling are forced to confront the predatory horror that has been hiding in the dark beneath them all along. Equal parts creature feature and coming-of-age nightmare, the film taps into one of childhood's most primal fears and refuses to let it stay safely in the realm of make-believe.
