The premise
While video chatting one night, six high school friends receive a Skype message from a classmate who killed herself exactly one year ago. At first they think it's a prank, but when the girl starts revealing the friends' darkest secrets, they realize they are dealing with something out of this world, something that wants them dead.

A group of high school friends settle in for an ordinary video chat session on the one-year anniversary of a classmate's suicide — until an uninvited presence joins the call and refuses to leave. What begins as an unsettling prank quickly escalates into something far more sinister, as long-buried secrets are dragged into the open one by one. Told entirely through a laptop screen in real time, Unfriended weaponises the familiar interfaces of social media and messaging apps to craft a uniquely modern kind of dread.
