“Their dream holiday became their worst nightmare”
Directed by Bill Bennett
The premise
Harry and Beth wanted a different kind of holiday so they chartered a boat to drop them off on a remote coral island on the Great Barrier Reef. The island was idyllic, surrounded by a wide reef, covered in palms and full of birds and other wildlife. It was small and totally deserted or so they thought. But when things go missing from their camp site and they discover someone else's footprints in the sand this quickly becomes disturbing as they realize the island has a ghost! Inspired by actual events.
Horror Vault's take
A couple seeking an off-the-grid escape charter a boat to a seemingly pristine, uninhabited coral island on Australia's Great Barrier Reef — only to discover they may not be as alone as they believed. Small, inexplicable disturbances begin to fracture their sense of safety, and the idyllic paradise quickly reveals a far more sinister character. Loosely inspired by real events, the film builds its dread through atmosphere and isolation rather than spectacle, letting the remoteness of the setting do much of the heavy lifting.
