The premise

A grieving woman is shaken to her core when she starts receiving phone calls that appear to be from her long-dead nephew — a boy who has been gone for fifteen years. As each call is followed by the death of someone close to her, terror tightens its grip on the entire family. This early-70s TV thriller leans into psychological dread and the horror of the unexplained, keeping viewers second-guessing what — or who — is really behind the calls. With a strong cast including Ben Gazzara and a young Michael Douglas, it punches well above its made-for-TV origins.
