The premise
Far away from the site of a gruesome murder, a teenager named Jill Johnson arrives at a luxurious home for a baby-sitting job. With the children fast asleep, she settles in for what she expects to be an ordinary evening. Soon, the ringing of a phone and the frightening words of a sadistic caller turn Jill's routine experience into a night of terror.

A routine babysitting gig at a sprawling, remote estate quickly unravels for teenager Jill Johnson when an anonymous caller begins reaching out with increasingly menacing intentions. Trapped in an unfamiliar house with sleeping children depending on her, Jill must figure out how real the threat is — and how close it might already be. This 2006 remake of the classic thriller strips the premise down to a single, suffocating night of escalating dread, banking entirely on atmosphere and tension over gore.
