The premise
Best friends Emily and Lesley go on a road trip to the desert. When Emily decides to get off the highway and take a "short cut," they become the target of a relentless and psychotic trucker who forces them to play a deadly game of cat and mouse.

A casual desert road trip between two best friends turns into a nightmare when a detour off the main highway puts them squarely in the crosshairs of a deranged trucker. What begins as an unsettling tail soon escalates into a brutal, high-speed game of cat and mouse with no obvious escape. Stranded in a vast, unforgiving landscape, the two women must rely on each other and their wits just to stay alive. Wrecker mines the terror of open-road vulnerability, proving that the middle of nowhere is the worst place to make an enemy.
