The premise
A reporter unearths an urban legend about a home being constructed from rooms where horrific tragedies have occurred.

When a reporter begins investigating an unsettling urban legend, she discovers that someone has been methodically harvesting rooms from crime scenes — spaces where unspeakable acts occurred — and assembling them into a single, nightmarish structure. The deeper she digs alongside a world-weary detective, the more she realizes the horror is far more personal than she ever anticipated. Rooted in its origins as a comic book, Abattoir serves up a distinctive, visually gothic mythology that sets it apart from conventional haunted-house fare. Lin Shaye and Dayton Callie lend the proceedings a memorably eccentric menace.
