The premise
Before horror enthusiast Max can break things off with his girlfriend Evelyn she dies in a bus accident. In time, Max meets another woman only to have Evelyn resurface as a zombie ready to resume their relationship.

Max is a horror-obsessed guy stuck in a suffocating relationship he can't seem to escape — until fate intervenes in the most permanent way possible. Just as he starts to rediscover himself and finds a new romantic spark, his past refuses to stay buried. Blending rom-com awkwardness with undead mayhem, this Joe Dante-directed horror comedy puts a ghoulish spin on the classic 'crazy ex' trope. It's equal parts graveyard romance and dark laughs, set against a Halloween-tinged backdrop.
