Cheerleader Camp1988
“Some girls would kill to be Cheerleaders.”
Directed by John Quinn
The premise
A cheerleader named Alison is plagued by nightmares about the upcoming all-state finals and attends a summer training camp with her teammates. When a number of deaths start occurring at the camp, Alison's nightmares turn twisted and brutal, and she begins to believe that she may be responsible for the mayhem.
Horror Vault's take
When anxious cheerleader Alison arrives at an elite summer training camp, she hopes to shake the disturbing nightmares that have been haunting her — but the body count rising around her makes that impossible. As her teammates fall one by one, Alison's grip on reality begins to loosen, leaving her questioning whether her darkest visions and the real-world carnage are somehow connected. Equal parts late-80s slasher and psychological unease, Cheerleader Camp leans into its campy charms while delivering genuine moments of dread. It's a sun-soaked, pom-pom-waving descent into paranoia that earns its cult reputation.
