The premise
When a tabloid reporter and his son travel to a quiet Midwestern town to investigate a gruesome massacre, they fall victim to a possessed orphan named Micah.

Years after a horrifying massacre left a Nebraska farming community in ruins, a tabloid journalist drags his estranged son to the scene to chase the story — only to find the danger far from over. The surviving children have been absorbed into a neighboring town, and something ancient and malevolent is already stirring among them again. As locals begin to die under mysterious and gruesome circumstances, father and son must navigate a community unwilling to face the truth growing in its own fields. The corn is patient, and it remembers.
