The premise
A field surgeon suffering from PTSD after combat in the Middle East creates a living human out of body parts in his Brooklyn lab.

A combat surgeon haunted by the horrors of war retreats into obsessive experimentation, stitching together a new life from the remnants of the dead in a Brooklyn laboratory. Depraved is a slow-burn, modern reimagining of the Frankenstein myth filtered through the lens of PTSD and moral collapse. The film lingers on its creature's dawning self-awareness as much as on its creator's unraveling psyche, making for a meditation on suffering as much as a horror film. Intimacy and dread coexist in equal measure as both man and monster struggle to understand what they've become.
