Horror Vault's take
Set in 19th-century France, a respected magistrate and amateur sculptor finds his ordered world unraveling after a disturbing encounter with a prisoner leaves him haunted by something he cannot see or fully understand. An malevolent invisible force known as a Horla begins to exert a terrifying influence over his thoughts and actions, blurring the line between madness and the genuinely supernatural. Vincent Price anchors this gothic chiller with brooding intensity, drawing viewers into one man's desperate struggle to comprehend — and resist — an evil that defies rational explanation.
