The premise
Barry is a drug-addled, abusive bastard who - after yet another bender - is abducted by aliens. Barry takes a backseat as an alien visitor assumes control of his body and takes it for a joyride through Cape Town. What follows is an onslaught of drugs, sex, and violence as our alien tourist enters the weird and wonderful world of humankind.

A burnt-out, thoroughly unpleasant man becomes an unwitting vessel when an extraterrestrial takes the wheel after an alien abduction, experiencing humanity from the inside out. The alien's wide-eyed tour through Cape Town's underbelly — drugs, violence, and everything in between — makes for a relentlessly unhinged ride. Equal parts midnight-movie grotesque and pitch-black comedy, Fried Barry revels in sensory overload and sheer audacity. It's a film that dares you to look away while making sure you can't.
