Irene arrives at a remote Austrian Alpine hotel to fill a vacancy left under deeply suspicious circumstances — her predecessor simply vanished. As she settles into the eerie, forest-shrouded establishment, a creeping sense of wrongness takes hold, and the line between professional unease and genuine danger begins to blur. Director Marlene Streeruwitz crafts a distinctly European slow-burn atmosphere, letting dread seep in through silence and setting rather than cheap shocks.
