The premise
A number of vicious murders occur in a small California town after a motorcycle-riding stranger arrives. The gruesome slayings look disturbingly like the work of a werewolf. Meanwhile, in another nearby town, police are hot on the trail of a killer they believe is a werewolf.

When a leather-jacketed stranger rolls into a quiet California desert town, a string of savage killings follows close behind. The locals begin to suspect something far worse than an ordinary murderer is stalking them, while law enforcement in a neighboring community closes in on a suspect they believe may not be entirely human. This late-entry chapter in the long-running Howling franchise leans heavily on its rural setting and slow-building dread, weaving country-bar atmosphere into its creature-feature premise.
