A ragtag film crew descends on a remote island to shoot a low-budget movie, only to find that someone — or something — is using the lyrics of a punk rock song as a murderous to-do list. As bodies pile up in gruesome accordance with the music, the survivors scramble to uncover the killer hiding among them before the final verse plays out. Equal parts grungy slasher and meta commentary on the chaos of indie filmmaking, Island of Blood leans hard into its low-fi charm. The isolated setting leaves nowhere to run and no one to trust.
