Ulysses Pick, a gangster with unfinished business at home, leads a strange procession through the rooms of a house that seems to hold far more than furniture and secrets. Director Guy Maddin constructs a hallucinatory noir in which the domestic space becomes a labyrinth of memory, guilt, and restless spirits. Shot in stark black and white, the film blurs the line between the living and the dead, the real and the imagined. What begins as a crime story quietly transforms into something far more haunting and deeply personal.
