“Your next move may be your last.”
Directed by Laura Mañá
🏆 7 wins & 3 nominations total
The premise
A mild-mannered psychopath plays mind-games with a woman he has tied to a chair in his basement.
Horror Vault's take
A seemingly ordinary man holds a woman captive in his basement, weaponizing intellect and language as tools of torment. What unfolds is a battle of wills played out through psychological manipulation rather than brute force. The film draws on philosophy and confession to keep both its prisoner — and the audience — perpetually off-balance. Tension mounts as the line between captor and captive, predator and prey, begins to blur in unexpected ways.
