The premise
17-year old Eli moves with his family to the isolated farm of reclusive Waylon, a man whose dark past threatens to overtake him. Eli’s family works to restore the desolate fields, while he becomes fascinated with the forests. While on the farm, Eli meets the mysterious Amanda when she gives him an apple. The next day she extracts a promise from him to avoid the deep woods. Reeling from a violent encounter with his father, one night he breaks this promise and finds her body hanging from a tree.

When sixteen-year-old Eli relocates with his struggling family to the remote farm of the brooding, enigmatic Waylon, he expects hardship — not obsession. A chance encounter in the surrounding woodland introduces him to a hauntingly beautiful girl named Amanda, whose warnings about the deep forest carry a weight he cannot yet understand. As Eli is pulled deeper into the land's secrets and Waylon's shadowed history, the boundary between the living and the dead grows dangerously thin. This quiet Southern Gothic slow-burn trades jump scares for a creeping, sorrowful dread that lingers long after the credits roll.
