A woman arrives in the fog-drenched coastal town of Point Dune searching for her vanished father, only to find its residents growing increasingly strange and hostile. Something old and malevolent has taken root in the community, and the deeper she digs, the more she risks becoming part of it. Messiah of Evil blends surrealist dread with zombie horror in a way that feels closer to a waking nightmare than a conventional fright film. Its sun-bleached California setting provides an unsettling contrast to the darkness creeping beneath the surface.
