The premise

Las Vegas showroom magician Cris Johnson has a secret which torments him: he can see a few minutes into the future. Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling "winnings." But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm.

Horror Vault's take

A Las Vegas magician secretly gifted with the ability to see a few minutes into his own future has spent years keeping a low profile — until a catastrophic terrorist threat puts him squarely in the crosshairs of federal agents desperate to weaponize his power. Nicolas Cage plays the quietly tormented Cris Johnson, a man who just wants to be left alone but finds that fate has other plans. The film races through a cat-and-mouse chase that blurs the line between predetermination and choice, keeping viewers guessing about what's real and what's already been seen. Based on a Philip K. Dick short story, it leans hard into paranoid thriller territory with a supernatural twist.
