“In this house...”
Directed by Kyle Edward Ball

The premise
Two children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished.
Horror Vault's take
Shot on grainy analog video that feels like a half-remembered nightmare, Skinamarink traps two young children alone in a house that has begun to defy the laws of reality — doors and windows simply cease to exist. Director Kyle Edward Ball strips horror down to its barest, most primal architecture: darkness, static, and the creeping sense that something unseen is in complete control. There is almost no conventional narrative here, only sustained, suffocating dread drawn from the deepest well of early childhood terror. Patience is rewarded with one of the most genuinely disorienting horror experiences in recent memory.
